Prior to joining this television station, I was working as a Reporter with HBC 94 FM. Before that, I worked with several vernacular weeklies, among others. I am also associated with Khabardar Weekly as an Executive Editor. As far as my future plans are concerned, I have a keen interest to establish myself in the field of journalism, especially on security and crime. In this regard, I have also been contributing article related to security and crime to different national dailies and weeklies.
My career in journalism, to be precise, began at a very young age. And the enthusiasm within me is still unfettered. I also want to make sure that I do have a sound knowledge of both print as well as electronic media with a little bit of online as well. At this point, I boast myself of producing and broadcasting more than 150 special reports and over 20 documentaries on Sagarmatha Television till date. My latest reports on poaching and trafficking of Rhino horn, narcotic drugs, kidney racket, arm smuggling, prostitution in Nepal, corruption, red-sandalwood smuggling, and fake currency, among others received positive feed-backs.
My carrier in journalism:
My career in this field has not been so smooth. It has been a blend of hard work, perseverance and struggle. The initial days in this sector, for me, were tough and challenging. Journalism, however, is still a challenge for me – a challenge to explore and dig up news and disseminate it in an impartial manner. The enthusiasm within me guided me towards developing other skills, such as interview techniques, report writing, analysing, anchoring, among others. More to it, surfing the internet, reading autobiographies of popular figures and reading newspapers have been my favourite time pass. Besides, one of my positive features is I can work under pressure in a highly organized manner. Among others, I can independently handle all tasks in a television station, including visual editing on Adobe Premier, Master Control Room (MCR), live system with optical fibre, photo-shop, Coral Draw, Adobe Page Maker, Freehand, Illustrator, Online editing and mixing, etc.
